The Moulton Municipal Court has jurisdiction and responsibility for motor vehicle and traffic violations, criminal misdemeanors, municipal ordinance violations, and enforcement or regulation violations under the City Ordinances. The jurisdiction of the Moulton Municipal Court extends to offenses committed within the city limits and city police jurisdiction.

Traffic/Parking tickets may be paid at the front cashier window between the hours of 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday or via Internet. All payable tickets can be paid in person or by mail. Cash, money orders, and Certified checks are acceptable methods of payment (NO PERSONAL CHECKS). Payments can be mailed to:

DEFENSIVE DRIVING SCHOOL
A.S.C. Traffic School provides certified Level I (3hr) and Level II “ISTOP” (6hr) courses. A.S.C. Traffic School may be contacted at 1-877-350-2221 website: www.TrafficSchoolAlabama.com.
In order to attend for a citation given by the City of Moulton, you must contact the court and first be approved to attend a certified driving school course. In addition to completing the certified course, court cost in the amount of $188.50 must be paid to the court.
The Municipal Court Magistrate’s office is the initial intake source for all misdemeanor complaints, which are prosecuted in the Municipal Court. The magistrates division provides services to the public and law enforcement for the issuance of misdemeanor warrants and processes. They also provide bail information regarding arrests of a person charged with a misdemeanor offense in the Moulton Municipal Court. Normal business hours are 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
- Warrant interviews by appointment only call (256) 974-1074 to schedule an appointment.
- Failure to Appear charges requires a mandatory $300.00 cash bond. This bond must be posted at the Moulton Municipal Court.
- Failure to Pay charges requires a mandatory cash bond for the remaining balance of the case(s). This bond must be posted at the Moulton Municipal Court.
- All other bonds may be posted in one of three ways:
- Cash of certified funds
- The use of a professional bonding company
- Property Bond (real estate located in Alabama) approved by the magistrate used as assurance that the defendant will appear in court.
Those individuals charged with felony offenses or arrested by outside agencies should direct bail inquiries to those agencies.
