The Moulton Fire Department consists of 3 state certified firefighter/EMTs, twenty-two volunteer fire fighters, and one Fire Chief. MFD consists of one fire station. The Fire Department has a Class 4/9 Fire Rating, which enables the city to enjoy lower insurance rates. MFD operates three front-line pumper trucks for fire suppression, one rescue/grass truck, a tanker truck, and a service/support truck.
The Fire Department is constantly training its own personnel and also conducts various training for outside agencies in the community. Other programs offered by the Moulton Fire Department include fire code inspections, fire extinguisher training, fire cause and determination, and a fire prevention and safety training program for area schools and civic groups.
GENERAL INFORMATION
Moulton Fire Department serves a community population of approximately 4,000 inside the corporate limits of Moulton and an additional 5,000 residents in the unincorporated fire district covering a land area of approximately 136 square miles. Moulton Fire Department responds primarily to fires and motor vehicle accidents as well as other emergency calls for service. These include but are not limited to calls for public assistance as well as hazardous materials and special response.
